Zagreb, 29 JUIN 2013, événement organisé par EUNIC Croatie pour l'Entrée de la Croatie dans l'UE.

ArtEnergy's debut was a very special occasion: Croatia's entry in the European Union.
Thanks to the precious support of EUNIC (the European Union of National Institutes of Culture, represented in Croatia by the Institut Francais, Italian Institute of Culture, British Council, Goethe Institut, Austrian Cultural Forum, Istituto Cervantes and Istituto Camoes), of the HDLU (the house of the Croatian Association of Artists, the oldest artistic institution in Croatia), and with the cooperation of MUU (Street Art Museum) and the City Centre for Culture Maksimir, and a lot of efforts from everybody, we opened the celebrations in Zagreb, with an event that got a lot of media attention before and during the opening.

From the concept of the project (the union of nature and technology seen through the creative eyes of the artists), to the ecologic workshops during the day, and finally the unusual opening event (an interactive/ecologic concert with a pedal powered sound system), ArtEnergy was very well accepted and pictured a mix of European values, international collaboration, ecologic, innovative and practical activities, which was attractive for both institutions and people.
The public was various, from families to representative of the art and cultural scene, and with a very wide age range, which was very important to us, as we think it's very important to convey the message to different generations.

The chosen artists, DEM from Italy and Kristina Lenard from Croatia, created two very different installations that gave the public two inspiring ways to look at the way man can interact with nature and technology, in the picturesque location of the Mestrovic Pavilion in the very centre of Zagreb. When the permits for the green area surrounding the Museum will expire, the installations will be hosted by other institutions and will be used for educative activities in cooperation with local schools.
